<Administration/> RubyStuff Shop is Open

Announcing the formal grand opening of Ruby Stuff: The Ruby Shop for Ruby Programmers.

In an effort to help fund ruby-doc.org and rubyxml.com, I assembled a variety of designs and opened up multiple shops on CafePress to hawk apparel, clocks, mugs, mouse pads, assorted sundries.

The RubyStuff site provides a set of aggregate pages so you can see the different designs in one place. All actual purchases are done on the corresponding CafePress site.

General info is here.

Enjoy,

James Britt

<Administration/> A Note to Those Sending E-Mail

I recently received an E-mail regarding the Semitar wiki. I replied to the sender, but the mail bounced. The 'from' address in the original E-mail was munged, and I thought I correctly de-munged it, but I guess not.

Please: Do not send me E-mail without a working return address listed someplace. I try to reply to all who write. I understand that many folks have their mail clients set up with munged 'from' and 'reply-to' headers, in which case the message body itself needs to have a correct address.

Spell it out. Make it a Ruby one-liner. Something.

Thanks,

James Britt

<Administration/> RSS Feed Munging

There have been legitimate inquires over old RSS items from this site reappearing as new in various feed readers. Some changes are being made to the feed format as well as the addition of boilerplate text. Hopefully, this will be wrapped up Real Soon Now and you'll stop seeing the repetition.

<Administration/> An Apology

I've recently discovered some issues with the Mozilla Thunderbird mail client which, at times, prevent Thunderbird from downloading or even acknowledging new mail. I've since been going through numerous mail accounts to verify that indeed I am receiving all mail, including mail for rubyxml.com. Sadly, some mail has been sitting on the server for many months.

If you have written to me at this site (admin AT rubyxml DOT com) and did not receive a reply, please accept my apologies.

James Britt, rubyxml.com administrator

PS:

Ange, thank for pointing out the typo in the header. Now fixed, 5 months later.

Chris: Let me know if you still need info on remote installation of server code using PHP scripts. I may not have the scripts, but I can explain the process and answer questions.
